Soviet/Russian techno-pop group, active between 1986 and 1990. Reunited since 2019. One of the first Soviet bands playing music inspired by [a4654], [a70735] and [a2725]. Founded in autumn of 1986, the band made its debut on the stages of the Moscow Rock Laboratory. In early 1987, the group recorded their first album Танцы по видео, which circulated on reel-to-reel tapes and cassettes. Subsequently, the group toured through the Soviet Union and recorded new songs, some of which were also released as singles. In 1989, the group released a split LP on the only Soviet label [l15486], containing four songs from Bioconstructor on the A-side; three remixes and one new composition. Earlier that year, Valery Vasko left the group. At the end of 1989, Roman Ryabtsev took his place. Before finishing their second album, the group disbanded in early 1990. Velichkovsky, Kokhaev and Ryabtsev formed together with the vocalist [url=https://www.discogs.com/artist/479688-%D0%92%D0%BB%D0%B0%D0%B4%D0%B8%D0%BC%D0%B8%D1%80-%D0%9D%D0%B5%D1%87%D0%B8%D1%82%D0%B0%D0%B9%D0%BB%D0%BE]Vladimir Nechitailo[/url] (earlier one of Bioconstructor's technicians) the techno-pop band [a479689]. Yakovlev, the former leader, founded the synth-pop band [a559259]. In 2019, after the rerelease of their album on CD, three members of the original line-up (Yakovlev, Kokhaev and Vasko) reunited and started to perform old and also new songs in concert.
