Tom Pintens

Belgian multi-instrumentalist, singer, songwriter, producer and audio engineer (Antwerp, 14 November 1974 - 4 August 2023). Starting out as a clarinettist, Tom Pintens studied at the Antwerp conservatory and was mainly interested in classical music. He later switched to keybaords and guitar. In the early nineties he founded the co-founded the pop band [a=Flowers for Breakfast] with a group of other classical music students. In 1994 he joined [a=A Beatband] which eventually evolved to [a=Moondog Jr.] and [a=Zita Swoon]. He was also a member of [a=Think Of One] between 1997-2002 and of [a=Het Zesde Metaal] between 2012 and his passing in 2023. He also produced their last album, to be released posthumously. Later in his career Pintens focussed on his solo releases, releasing three studio albums between 2007 and 2011, singing mainly in Dutch. His ex-partner [a=Ellen Schoenaerts] was also his regular lyricist on these releases. He later had a relationship with [a=Laurence Roothooft], with whom he formed the band [a=ELDERS (6)] in 2020.
