Pygmé Jazzband

Swedish Dixieland jazz band that was started in the early 50s by some 13-year-old boys. The band became incredibly popular, released many records and toured extensively around Sweden. Many jazz musicians have started their careers in Pygmé Jazzband. Some brilliant examples are the trombonist Eje Thelin and the clarinetist and entertainer Anders Linder. The band has a swinging swing-based accompaniment with influences from Chicago jazz. King Oliver, Fats Waller, Louis Armstrong, Benny Goodman are among the role models and, not to be forgotten, Humphrey Lyttelton.
