Edith Canat De Chizy

Edith Canat de Chizy (born 26 March 1950) is a French composer. She was born in Lyon, and studied art, archaeology and philosophy at the Sorbonne University and then music at the Paris Conservatoire with Maurice Ohana and Ivo Malec. She continued her studies in electroacoustics at the Conservatoire and with the Groupe de Recherches Musicales. After completing her studies, de Chizy worked as a music educator, becoming director of a conservatory in Paris. She was elected a member of the Academy des Beaux-Arts of Paris in 2005.
