Sterling is a Danish pop-rock band formed in the fall of 1999 in Aarhus by the members Jonas Linnet, Ole Jeppesen and Mads Nygaard. They play live in Huset in december that year. Later on Rasmus Bjerre also became member.. In 2002 Sterling were chosen to participate in the first edition of [l=DR]'s (Danish Public Service Radio) music contest for upcoming bands, Karrierekanonen. They were also chosen to participate in [l1775226] in Aarhus, DK. The debut-album 'Solo danser mama sjus' was released in April 2004 on Bird Hits Plane and the single 'Rødvin2004' went #1 on the Danish radio chart Det Elektriske Barometer. In 2005 Sterling started recording the EP 'Estadio Camp-let' later released on Crunchy Frog. In 2006 Sterling released their second full-length album 'Yndigt Land' also on Crunchy Frog. One year later the bass-player Rasmus Bjerre left the band. Sterling released an album in English, 'Celebrations' in Germany under the name Sterling International. An album with songs from their earlier albums. The album 'Tonemaskinen' from March 2010 released on the label Speed of Sound is so far the last album from the band. A 2020 tour was cancelled due to Covid19.
