R.P. Cola

D.J., producer, ex-rapper, ex-dancer and ex-choreographer from the Northside of Houston, Texas. Known for his early contributions to Houston Hip-Hop music and culture. He began as a local club DJ in the mid-to-late 80's, and later began producing as well as rapping and beatboxing. In 1987 he released [r=3914109] to local success, garnering the attention of [a2573439] to work with the likes of [a1440212] and [a2573439]'s daughter, [a1139436]. In 1988 [a3354342] whom R.P. had worked with on [r=3914109] helped with his 2nd solo release [r=430977] which wound up on the New York label [l27794], leading to global distribution and notoriety. In 1991 R.P. Cola revamped his "outdated" style and became [a2146035], releasing his first studio album [r=4708903] to major success in the Texas state. It wasn't until 1999 when he would release his final piece of original music, his second and last studio album, [r=1897353]. In 2006 he hooked up with friend OG Ron C of [l26576], where "Act Like U Know" was reissued. He's been featured on multiple screwtapes from DJ Screw, Michael Watts, K-Sam, Lil' C, and more. As well as the soundtrack for the original underground movie "Hustle Town Mobbin'". In recent years, he's been focusing on DJing at local clubs, and has since changed his name to "DJ R.P. Cola" and periodically, "DJ Chill Neil".
