Ben Heaney

Ben Heaney is an electric violinist, vocalist & composer. He studied Classical violin with Rosemary Rapaport and received musical training from Sir Thomas Armstrong. Whilst at the Royal Northern College of Music he turned his interest to the electric violin. Since the early 90s he has undertaken an unparalleled study of the electric violin, researching the instrument in terms of history, development & technique. Ben is noted for creating incredible soundscapes to sometimes terrifying effect. His work covers a broad spectrum of genres and styles, always crossing boundaries and occupying spaces in-between.
