[b]Don't confuse with his son, pianist, [a=Alfredo Valdés Jr.]: both can appear as Alfredito Valdes.[/b] Brother of singer and bandleader [a=Vicentico Valdés] and percussionists [a305160] and [a=Oscar Valdés (Padre)], father of pianist [a=Alfredo Valdés Jr.], and husband of singer and guitarist Ana María Purmuy who was a member of the all-women orchestra [a=Anacaona].
