Tabu Ley Rochereau

African rumba singer-songwriter and politician from the Democratic Republic of the Congo born 13 November 1940, died 30 November 2013. Along with guitarist [a=Dr. Nico], he pioneered soukous and internationalised his music by mixing elements of Congolese folk music with Cuban, Caribbean, and Latin American rumba. He's the father of 68 children, including french rapper [a=Youssoupha] and perhaps [a=Pegguy Tabu].
