Carl Kalf

Dutch trumpet (and cello) player, born 1946. Kalf's name surfaced in the late 1960s. He then joined the Zaan music groups The New Sounds and The Virginian Creeper. The music style of those bands could be described as resembling Chicago and Blood, Sweat & Tears. Record labels saw no point in it, although Bovema had rewrote the song Embryo. In the seventies Kalf moved on to the [a=Dizzy Man's Band] and the same was true for this. The record labels saw something in the party music they played, but their interest in rock with jazz influences was less of their interest. When the flow of hits stops, Kalf can be heard together with saxophonist [a=Bertus Borgers] during [a=Golden Earring]'s Switch tour. He was later found in the [a=Harry Muskee Band]. Kalf left the music-scene to become a marketing & sales expert in the healthcare and communications industry.
