Debbie Fleming

Canadian singer born in Ottawa, Ontario, has worked as a solo, back-up and ensemble member in rock and roll, country, choir, jazz, and - as "A.C.Kurrett", R 'n B. Debbie sang with [a1152610] in the 1960s, but turned down [a478866]'s invitation to join the band officially as a backup singer, instead choosing to go to McMaster University. After leaving McMaster with a degree in Psychology and a love for jazz, she moved to London, Ontario where Hawkins introduced her to her future husband [a1466497]. She was a first-call session backup vocalist in Toronto in the 70s and appeared regularly on TV programs The Tommy Hunter Show, and The Ronnie Prophet Show. She released her first solo album in 1980 and continues to be a sought-after backing singer. She also spent 40 years as a member of the [a=Toronto Mendelssohn Choir].
