Boogie Flaha

French Antillean hip-hop MC, producer, Bboy, and Bèlè dancer from Fort-de-France, Martinique in the French West Indies, performing with lyrics in French and Martiniquan Creole. Born in Martinique in 1973, Boogie is a hip-hop pioneer on the island, having started as a Bboy in 1982 when he was living in Paris, France listening to mixes from DJ Dee Nasty. In 1989 he returned to Martinique and formed the group Les Nèg aka Nègkipakafèlafèt together with Neg Lyrical and Neg Madnik. Boogie played an integral role in fusing hip-hop with the more traditional Bèlè music of Martinique.
