Phyllis Heymans

Dutch singer. Born: 23. January 1919 in Peking. She used to live for some years in Batavia, before moving to Europe with her family. She got her Piano lessons at the music conservatory in Basel, Switzerland -- where she also used to work as a ballet dancer for the theatre. At the age of 17 she became a chorus-girl singer in the Netherlands. During 1939 - 1941 she became the singer of The Lanigiros (a.k.a. The Lanigiro Syncopating Melody Kings) from Basel In 1942 she became a member of Teddy Stauffer's band "The Teddies" She also used to play the Boogie Woogie with Buddy Bertinant.
