Natalie Horler

Natalie Horler was born 23 September 1981 in Bonn, Germany. After her marriage with Moritz Raffelberg, she's named Natalie Raffelberg. As her parents had moved from England to Germany a year earlier, she grew up in Germany with her two sisters and still enjoyed a very English childhood. Her mother Christine is a foreign language teacher and her father [a=David Horler] is a jazz musician and a member of the WDR Big Band located in Cologne, Germany. She's the niece of [a=John Horler]. At early age, she would often do recordings in her father´s studio at home, the great part of which were jazz songs and tunes from Disney movies. When asked when she had started singing, she admitted that she could no longer tell: she just pointed out that she enjoyed it so much already in her younger years to know that one day she did want to be a singer. Apart from singing, she has always taken several kinds of different dancing lessons, like stepdance, jazzdance, hip hop and street dance and acted in a few amateur plays as a teenager. As her father often directed the music of these plays, she also assisted him at the vocal recordings and rehearsals. Apart from dance music, she is also a lover of soul music - one of her idols is Alicia Keys. Since her father's musical background opened opportunities for her to sneak into the jazz music world, this genre too has become one of her favorites. At 18 she started doing studio work - here and there, she did record some tracks for different DJs. That´s how she ended up meeting Manuel Reuter (DJ Manian) and Yann (Yanou)….
