Γιώργος Τζιμάκης

Cretan artist born at Ρέθεμνος in 1913 started to involve with music at the age of 9 where he and his friend [a=Ανδρέας Ροδινός] bought their first instrument: a mandolin. Self taught to all the instruments he played. Later he will continue with the Cretan Lyre. At the age of 14 he started to give live performances with [a=Αντώνης Καρεκλάς]. Later on in the 30's decade he recorded with [a=Στρατής Καλογερίδης] and collaborated with the most significant Cretan artists of the era.
