Arthur Fiedler

US conductor born December 17, 1894 in Boston, Massachusetts and died July 10, 1979 in Brookline, Massachusetts. He was appointed the 18th conductor for the [a=Boston Pops Orchestra] in 1930 which he conducted for 50 years, until his death. He also spent 26 summers with the "San Francisco Pops Orchestra" beginning in 1949.
