Agressor

French death metal band. Agressor were one of the legendary bands who formed the death metal scene in France in the late '80s. The band was formed in 1986 at a time when this genre had just began to form in different places of the world, most notably Sweden and the USA. After recording several demos they recorded a number of albums and toured extensively together with bands such as Sinister, Wargasm and Loudblast which led to an increasing popularity for the band. With "Symposium Of Rebirth" they began exploring new musical landscapes by working together with classical orchestra choirs of the Lyon Philharmonic. After a UK tour with Cradle Of Filth in June 1996 the only remaining founding member, Alex, started to work for their current label Black Mark Production and also became an officially endorsed Ibanez guitarist. Due to his busy life outside the band Agressor was temporarily put on hold but they were to return again. The new album, "Medieval Rites", featured many guest musicians, including current and former members of Bloodthorn, Mercyful Fate, Rotten Sound and Testament. In short, Agressor is one of the most important bands in the history of European metal.
