Mahsat

Romanian hip hop group Mahsat was founded in the late 1990s by then-teenagers Maximilian, Houdini and Blatjargon. They were recruited by the fellow hip hop group [a=B.U.G. Mafia] to sign with their then-newly established [l=Casa Productions] in 2001 and they were featured on the "B.U.G Mafia prezinta Casa" (B.U.G. Mafia presents: Casa), a compilation meant to introduce the label's signees to the world. [a=ParaziĊ£ii] producer and member [a=Cheloo] worked with them on their 1998 debut single, "Jucator cu doua fete" (Two-faced Player). Mahsat released their debut album, Laboratoru' (The Laboratory), in mid-2002, to critical acclaim, but to very poor sales. Producer and member Blatjargon quit the group in disappointment and continued his musical career as a pop producer and member of reggaeton group [a=Chicanos (2)] and later as a DJ for the deep house act [a=Deepside Deejays]. By 2008, the group had disbanded with [a=Maximilian (4)] pursuing a solo career with [l=Okapi Sound] while his brother retired from music. They occasionally reunited for live performances or on [a=Maximilian (4)]'s albums.
