Mitty Collier

Soul - rhythm n' blues singer Born on 21 June 1941 in Birmingham, Alabama. She started singing in gospel groups like [b]Hayes Ensemble[/b] and [a=The Lloyd Reese Singers]. After entering a talent show in Chicago, 1959 [a=Ralph Bass] of [l=Chess] offered her a record contract. [a=Billy Davis (2)] was her main producer while she was at [l=Chess]. Her biggest hit was with her single "I'm Your Part Time Love" a Top 20 hit in 1963. In 1968 she left [l=Chess] for [a=William Bell]'s [l=Peachtree Record Company]. In 1971 she developed polyps on her vocal cords losing her singing voice, and gave up her secular music career. Later she started a gospel career recording religious music albums and keeping herself busy with activities around her strong christian beliefs.
