Opal Louis Nations

Musicologist and collector (born in Brighton, England, now lives in Oakland) As a singer, he recorded some tunes in the 60's as Martin Hummingbird (1966 on Decca) or with The Frays (1965, on Decca 12229). Wrote several books (fiction or music related), interviews and articles for such magazines as Blues & Rhythm, Soul Bag,... and liner notes. Has also been an editor. Now Doo-Wop, Blues, Gospel and Pop expert, compiling obscure recordings on CD (several issues on Acrobat, or [r2825725] on Rhino 75734).
