Alan Escombe-Wolhuter

Bassist from Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe). Escombe first played in a group called The Phantoms in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe. After relocating to England, he replaced [a3881236] as the bassist for [a296492] in 1965. The group was mainly active in Belgium, and after they split up, Escombe founded the prog rock group [a3362233] together with [a1390580], [a3867069], and [a3867070]. After several lineup changes the group split up in early 1972. They only released one album, which is now a highly sought-after collector's item. In 1978, Escombe co-founded [url=http://www.rockitcargo.com]Rock-It Cargo[/url], a company handling world-wide airfreight and oceanfreight for groups on tour. He retired to Australia in 2005, where he passed away on 17th October 2015.
