Sabre (9)

Cleveland, Ohio-area heavy metal band founded by Pat Hayes and Rick Constantinescu in April 1983. In 1984, singer Eric Reeves (aka Buddy McCormack) was recruited. Shortly after Reeves joined, drummer Rick Keihl was replaced with ex-[a=Fayrewether] drummer Pete Pollack. With this lineup, Sabre became a well-regarded local band, playing shows throughout Ohio. In November 1984, Sabre went to [l=Suma Recording Studio] in Painesville, Ohio, to record their debut demo, a six song tape, released before the end of 1984. This was followed in March 1985 with a 7" single with two of the songs from the tape. Later in 1985, Reeves left Sabre and the band relocated to Phoenix, Arizona, and then Hollywood, California. After a little more than a year, and still unable to find a replacement for Reeves, Pat Hayes ended Sabre and moved back to Northeast Ohio.
