The Jesters

US vocal group active in the 1940s, specialized in spoken comedy and novelty songs. Members include Wamp Carlson, Dwight "Red" Latham and Guy Bonham. The first performed singing commercials on radio for shows sponsored by the Green Brothers Company of Springfield, Mass., and Trenton, N.J., the makers of Tastyeast candy bars in 1930. They were then known as the "Tastyeast Jesters". Changing their name to "The Jesters", the group became known for their novelty songs and snappy patter. They appeared in seven films together between 1939 and 1945.
