Amp Fiddler

American singer, songwriter, keyboardist and record producer from Detroit, Michigan. Born May 17 1958, died December 17, 2023. Having studied jazz in school and with Harold McKinney while growing up in Detroit, Joseph "Amp" Fiddler began his career in popular music when he went on tour with the group Enchantment. Later, in the mid 80's, after joining George Clinton & Parliament/Funkadelic, he toured worldwide with the group and extensively worked as keyboard player and co-producer in studio recordings. He also performed with Jamiroquai, The Brand New Heavies, Prince, Seal and Maxwell. In 1990 he produced his own album. More recently, Amp has released various singles for UK Genuine label and has been working with Carl Craig and Planet-e's various projects (Detroit Experiment, Moodymann, John Arnold, Recloose ...).
