Danish bassist, composer, but also educator at [l447934], born on October 4, 1982 in DaugÄrd, Vejle, Denmark. Andersson, with roots in Denmark, the Faroe Islands and Iceland, grew up in a musical family but never showed much interest in music until the age of 14 when his life was turned upside down after a fireworks accident that cost him his sight. After this, he would find his way into jazz first through [a145273] and, later, the live recordings of pianist [a256057]. Many more years later, Richard Andersson has gained great recognition for his work as a composer and bass player in the modern jazz field.
