Todd Gordon (3)

Although middle aged when he took up his music career, Todd Gordon quickly became recognised as one of Britain's leading jazz and swing singers. His lifelong passion for the American Songbook dates back to his childhood. Indeed, he was just 11 years old when he became hooked on Sinatra and, five years later, went on to meet another of his idols - Ella Fitzgerald - who later serenaded him on stage during her concert. It was a life-changing moment, consolidating his love for this kind of music. Todd has performed at leading jazz festivals and renowned venues and clubs, such as Cadogan Hall, Sage Gateshead, Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, Royal Opera House, Bridgewater Hall, Ronnie Scott’s in London and the Algonquin in New York. He has joined forces with a wide range of stars including Sir Michael Parkinson, Jacqui Dankworth, Clare Teal, Eddi Reader, Claire Martin, Elaine Delmar, Justin Currie and the BBC Big Band. With four albums under his belt, he added another string to his bow by writing and presenting radio programmes for the BBC. This led to his own weekly radio show - Todd’s Turntable - featuring the very best of vocal jazz, swing, easy listening and a few surprises along the way.
