Maria Kvist

Swedish jazz pianist, singer and composer, born August 19, 1971 in Ede, Kälarne in Jämtland, living in Stockholm. She is educated at Berklee College of Music, Boston, USA, and at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm. She has participated in jazz pop groups such as Blå Kongo with the debut album Blå Kongo (exergy-music). Received STIM's scholarship in composition in 2001 and SKAP composition award in 2012. Maria Kvist Quartet was nominated for Sveriges Radio's jazz award "Jazzkatten" for group of the year 2019.
