The Dell-Vikings

The Del Vikings formed in 1955, they contained five young American Air Force men (all black). In 1956, they won a song contest run by the Air Force while stationed in Pittsburgh. Fee-Bee records released their big hits "Come Go With Me" which became a million seller in 1957, and "Whispering Bells". National distribution was handled by Dot. The members have changed constantly over the decades. Original group members in early 1957: Corinthian "Kripp" Johnson, Clarence Quick, David Lerchey, Norman Wright and Donald "Gus" Backus.
