Plastic Eaters

Plastic Eaters were formed in Philadelphia, United States in January 1996 as a creative venture between [a=Stan Stammers] and vocalist [a=Rob Daly (2)]. Stammers was formerly bass player with bands [a=Theatre of Hate], [a=Spear of Destiny] and [a=Crazy Pink Revolvers]. After nearly 7 years in the States, Stan found an accomplice for his new musical endeavors in vocalist, programmer and digital visionary, [a=Rob Daly (2)]. Stan had approach [a=James Atkin] the lead singer from [a=EMF], who was very keen and was sent a demo of their first song "Six Gun", which was written around a sample of part of [a=Joe Strummer]s' vocal from "I Fought The Law". Between 1996 and 2004 the Eater's regularly played throughout Philadelphia, New York and New Jersey, and occasionally in Los Angeles. They also produced and re-mixed other artists too, which include [a=Pretty Poison], [a=Josh Wink], [a=Ani DiFranco], [a=D Generation], [a=Rocket from the Crypt], and [a=Incognegro]. Plastic Eaters also made a 35mm short film ".357-11". Written and directed by [a=Rob Daly (2)], the film stars [a=Rob Daly (2)], [a=Stan Stammers] and [a=Sean Money] in acting roles and features Plastic Eaters' music. The short has been screened at film festivals ranging from TromaDance and The Los Angeles International Short Film Festival, to The New York International Film Festival. After the release of a few EPs and a live album "Live At The Uptown", through their on website, the band seem to be returning more to old school punk with their newer material. The band hasn't until now released material in the UK. In December 2008 Plastic Eaters released a version of the [a=Slade] classic "Merry X-mas Everybody" with "Going On A Mission", as a digital download only release through iTunes and 7digital. Plastic Eaters are currently in the studio.
