The Shizit

In early 1999, The Shizit was formed in Seattle, WA, with J.P. Anderson doing programming and vocals and Brian Shrader on the guitar. Soon after, they recorded "Evil Inside," their first demo. Combining the cold, synth sound of techno with the angry brutality of metal and mixing in a political message, the music created was innovative and full of depth. Spread through underground sources, and along the internet, the band began to pick up a growing number of followers. There was enough interest sparked that the band was invited to re-record their songs for a European produced album. Unfortunately, the the album never came together, and the newly recorded tracks were made into "Script Kiddie." Work began on a completely new album. "[r=246758]" (aka SoFTeR) was released in 2001. Years of work had started to pay off. The Shizit was featured on [a=Alec Empire]'s "[r=109887]" compilation, and soonafter was touring with Alec Empire himself in Europe. A third member, Jason Alberts, was added to the group as a full time turntablist. Unfortunately, in early 2003, the Shizit called it quits, with no explanation. It seems that the cliched "musical differences" has struck again. A posthumous album was released on [l=D-Trash Records], with artists remixing the "Soundtrack For The Revolution" album as "[r=248006]". After long silent hiatus, in October 2009 The Shizit announced comeback (this time only with J.P. Anderson as a member) and released a new selftitled album which is available for free download. In January 2010 former member Brian Shrader sent cease and desist letters to D-Trash Records and Glitch Mode Recordings for unauthorized use of "The Shizit" trademark on recordings unauthorized by his share in the partnership.
