Eric Von Schmidt
Singer-Songwriter, Guitarist, Painter & Illustrator. He was associated with the folk boom of the late 1950s and early 1960s and a key part of the Cambridge folk music scene. As a singer and guitarist, he was considered to be the leading Cambridge specialist in country blues at the time. He won a Grammy Award for his work on the compilation album "Anthology of American Folk Music, Vol. 1-3" in 1997. Born 28 May 1931 Westport, CT USA Died 2 February 2007 Westport, CT USA Son of illustrator Harold Von Schmidt.
