Morgana King

American jazz singer and actress. Born June 4, 1930 in Pleasantville, New York. Died March 22, 2018 (aged 87) Palm Springs, California. She was married to [a1028148] and to [a253064]. Her professional singing career began at age sixteen. She had a four-octave contralto vocal range. In 1964, she received a Grammy Award nomination for Best New Artist. The award went to the Beatles. She headlined clubs, concert halls and hotels, and toured throughout the United States, Europe, Australia and South America. She charted with "I Have Loved Me a Man" in 1967, which rose to #34 on the U.S. adult contemporary charts.
