Björn Alke

Swedish jazz bassist, pianist, violinist and composer, born April 15, 1938 in Sundsvall, Sweden, died October 31, 2000 in Farsta, Sweden. He studied solo violin at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm (KMH) in 1960–1964. He has also studied piano and double bass and graduated as a jazz teacher in 1984 at KMH. He was a lecturer at the Academy of Music in Piteå in 1984–1987. Ever since 1960, he has been working as a private tutor. He made several appearances with Swedish and American jazz musicians.
