Pia Ortkær

Danish 60's pop singer Pia Ortkær recorded her first record as a 13-year-old and was offered a record contract after a performance in Tivoli. Her first record "En casanova som dig" was released in 1970. She had her breakthrough on the Danish top in 1971 with the song "En jeg kan elske". Up until 1977, she had several successful recordings, e.g. "Tu-ra-lu-ra-le", "Do you remember the first kiss", "Hey, play some beat music" and "I have many bright memories". Pia Ortkær was the subject of mentions in the colored press, which at the end of the decade caused her to withdraw from the public eye. The last single "Hey, play some beat music" was released in 1977 and marked the end of a 10-year career. Pia Ortkær emigrated to the sunny Greek island of Crete, where she lives today.
