Ases Falsos

Ases Falsos is a Chilean alternative rock band with soul and pop tinges. From 2005 to 2011 they were known under the name Fother Muckers. From April 2011, they began a new stage as Ases Falsos, which guitarist Héctor Muñoz would leave in March 2012. Cristóbal Briceño himself explained in a presentation that "we finished telling a story, which was Fother Muckers, and now we are ready to tell another one". In May 2012, the title of their debut album -Juventud Americana- is revealed, and a couple of songs already recorded for the album begin to be played on different radios. In August, the release date is revealed, which would be September 3rd, edited under the new label Arca Discos. This album was nationally acclaimed being considered at the end of 2019 as the best album of the decade in Chile according to the newspaper La Tercera. On July 1, 2014, they publish their album "Conducción" for free download through their label Quemasucabeza's website for only 24 hours, generating thousands of downloads immediately, even collapsing the website. On August 4 they officially launched the album Conducción with a show at the Teatro La Cúpula del Parque O'Higgins with a full house. In March 2015 they played at Vivo Latino in Mexico with a praised performance by the Mexican audience. In 2016, the band announces its third studio album. The album, titled El Hombre Puede, was released on October 28, 2016 through different streaming platforms and with "Gehena" as the first single premiered weeks before. Was highlighted by Rolling Stone USA as one of the best Latin albums of 2016. Released live at Blondie Discoteque on December 11 and a year later released on vinyl, the band's first vinyl album. In 2018, released independently, "Mala Fama" is the fourth album by Ases Falsos and consists of 13 songs, of which the singles "Mala Fama" and "Así es como termina" stand out. It was recorded in the south of Chile (in the vicinity of Lake Llanquihue) and is characterized for being the only work of Ases Falsos that was not released live in Santiago, but they chose the city of Concepción, where they performed at the Teatro Regional del Bio Bio in June 2018. In 2019, after a successful performance at Lollapalooza Chile 2019 the band would confirm an indefinite break. In the middle of the break Ases Falsos made a successful tour of Mexico and would begin recording their 5th full-length. The band would put an end to the break giving concerts in October and on December 13 giving their second concert as a band at the Teatro Caupolicán. At the end of 2019 were released previews of what would be the new discographic material of the band, which surprisingly would not be one, but two full-length albums. One titled "Tacto" produced by guitarist Martín del Real with Victoria Cordero at Estudios Lautaro and the other titled "Chocadito" produced by Francisco "Flaco" Rojas. The production work of the albums was truncated by the COVID-19 pandemic but thanks to the support of the fans they were released on October 9, 2020. In 2023 the band announces the release of their anticipated film Bremen (movie), which had already been announced a few years ago, but without much news about it. The film is a loose adaptation of the Brothers Grimm fairy tale "The Bremen Musicians". The film was previewed on Saturday, December 09, 2023 at the Insomnia cinema. Ases Falsos announced an indefinite break after 12 years of activity, six studio albums and tours throughout Latin America. The band will say goodbye to their fans with a tour of Chile in January 2024, which will include exclusive screenings of Bremen.
