Mike Ruby (2)

Canadian saxophonist, composer, and bandleader, born in Toronto in 1987 and now living in New York City. Somewhere between Lauv’s production, John Mayer’s penmanship and Julia Michael’s delivery lies Mike Ruby. After creative speed dating with songwriters across the world and over a thousand songs in his notebook, Mike is releasing his debut EP ‘You Wrote These Songs’ in the winter of 2020. Mike’s road to this point hasn’t been a straight one; he began his career as a jazz saxophonist in New York City, signed to a subsidiary record label of Universal. After graduating from Manhattan School of Music he started touring with synth pop St Lucia in the US and while opening for Ellie Goulding with the band, Mike fell in love with pop music and began writing his own. He released his first single in the summer of 2019, and it hit #40 on Billboard and Pop Radio Charts across the country. His second single, being released September 27th, was co written with Childish Gambino’s producer and St. Lucia’s producer/keyboardist. As a writer, Mike has garnered over 5 Million Streams across platforms, and now his first single has over 1 million with almost 700K on YouTube alone. Mike’s music expertly walks the line of fitting into the popular world with an authentic musical twist, and an honest voice that cuts through the noise.
