Piter Wilkens

Piter Wilkens (Leeuwarden, August 26, 1959) is a singer, guitarist, composer and lyricist. With the band [a1496151] Wilkens was at the basis of the Frisian-language pop scene from 1979 onwards. In 1986 he went solo and he is still at the top in musical Friesland. Piter sings exclusively in Frisian or in dialects related to Frisian. He has toured abroad several times ( the United States, Poland, Lithuania and Austria). He performs solo, but also with a backing band, a local corps, a big band or a choir.
