Tlen Huicani

Tlen-Huicani is a Mexican folk music group from Xalapa-Enríquez, in Veracruz, Mexico formed in 1973. Tlen-Huicani is a Nahuatl word that means "The Singers". Since its founding in 1973 they have dedicated themselves to rescuing and spreading the musical heritage of the Veracruz people, as well as investigating and executing both the Traditional musical manifestations - now almost forgotten - such as those of new creation, preserving their original version at all times. The first presentation of the group took place on September 12 of the same year. Its activities include the support it provides to various theater and dance companies of the Universidad Veracruzana. Tlen-Huicani musicalizes the programs of the Folkloric Ballet of the Veracruzana University, with which they have traveled a large part of the American and European continents and some Asian countries such as China and Japan.
