Encrust was a Sludge/Stoner Metal band from Chicago, IL USA Formed in 2011 and disbanded in 2014. Chris Angelucci - Vocals, Noise Luke Tobias - Lead Guitar Ryan Kasparian - Rhythm Guitar Jeremy Pyrzynski - Bass Brian Kutanovski - Drums Encrust are a Sludge/Stoner Metal Band who play brutal based riffs drenched in despair and misery. They are getting a whole lot of praise for their style of hard hitting music which incorporates the finest elements from Sludge, Stoner, Thrash and Hardcore. Their new album – From Birth To Soil – is an absolute monster of heavy riffage from start to finish. The 8 songs are sublime examples on how to mix those genres to great effect. The 35 minutes running time shows you what this band can do to brilliantly stand out from the Sludge/Stoner/Thrash crowd. They mix the heaviness of Baroness/Mastodon Sludge Metal with the classic hard rock dual guitars ala Thin Lizzy style but with a demented Thrash/Hardcore edge holding these genres together. I was first aware of these guys back in Summer 2011 when they went by the name Hunters. Their music impressed me right away. They had a great brutal aggression to their music but the Sludge/Stoner Metal vibe make them stood out from the rest of the crowd.
