Apoll

André Pollmann a.k.a. Apoll started to make music in 1987. Living in an industrial area (Duisburg, a town in the German Ruhrgebiet) he was involved in the EBM scene which started to grow at this time in Belgium. Apoll was influenced by Skinny Puppy, Front Line Assembly, Clock Dva, Tuxedomoon, Fad Gadget, Soft Cell, à grumh…, The Neon Judgement, Front 242 and of course Depeche Mode, Kraftwerk and Portion Control to name but a few. He founded lots of bands and released loads of tracks on different electronic body music compilations. An album was released on Spanish label Bol Records in 1990. After leaving Duisburg for Switzerland in 1991 Apoll quit also the EBM scene and found his love as a producer as well as a DJ in electronic, minimal styled dance music. Apoll appears on different imprints like Tokyo's Gyro Trax and Cologne's Sub Static, where he released a much acclaimed EP. At the beginning of 2001, Apoll started an own label called Tongut. Tongut stand for minimal, dubby quality techno and features artists like Cologne's Rene Breitbarth and Falko Brocksieper plus the likes of Novatek, Todd Bodine or Dub Taylor - not forgetting Apoll, who released the first 3 releases himself.
