Wilson Paim

Wilson Paim (Alegrete, October 24, 1962) is a Brazilian singer and songwriter of regional music from Rio Grande do Sul. His biggest hits are "Reencontro", "Ainda Existe Um Lugar" and "Vitória Régia" with the participation of Shana Müller. At the age of 17, he participated for the first time in a native music festival. The first song he recorded was Martim Pescador (José V. Leães/Adroaldo Mendes Machado) at the 3rd Coxilha Nativista festival in Cruz Alta, in 1983. This was his first LP, which would be released independently in 1985. Wilson Paim's consecration took place after 13 albums were released, in 1996, through an unusual project: he released a CD singing Christmas songs, entitled Natal Gaúcho, which sold over 100,000 copies in just 45 days. He was the 7th musician from Rio Grande do Sul to receive a Gold Record.
