Waldorf Salad

Bubblegum pop children american band. They were 11-year-old [a=Jonathan Melvoin] (son of [a=Mike Melvoin]) on drums, 13-year-old [a=Deirdre Howard-Williams] (daughter of actor John Howard) on flute, and three children of co-producer [a=Gary Coleman], [a=David Coleman (2)] (10) on percussion, [a=Lisa Coleman] (12) on keyboards, and guitarist [a=Debbie Coleman (2)] (14). When Waldorf Salad signed with A&M Records in 1971, actress [a=Mackenzie Phillips], daughter of Mamas and Papas famed [a=John Phillips] and best friend of Lisa, was also in the group. Mackenzie had to leave the band because she got a role on American Graffiti movie and subsequently did not appear on disc. Another of Gary's daughters, [a=Cole Coleman], was also at one time in the group. Jonathan Melvoin was later in Smashing Pumpkins and died in 1996. Lisa and David Coleman both played with Prince, David passing away in 2004.
