American jazz saxophonist (tenor and alto), clarinetist and singer. Played with : Jimmie Noone ("Apex Club Orchestra"), Doc Cook, Fate Marable and others. He recorded with Freddie Keppard ("Cookie's Gingersnaps"). Born : December 31, 1895 in Alexandria, Louisiana. Died : May 31, 1942 in Illinois.
