Dennis Johnson (5)

Dennis Johnson (1938-2018) was an American composer. He is credited as having composed the first "minimal" composition ‘November’, for solo piano, in 1959. ‘November’ was one of the inspirations for [a=La Monte Young]’s 1964 composition ‘The Well-Tuned Piano’. Johnson gave up music around 1962 and moved into mathematics at Caltech.
