Leon Driscoll

"Previously going under his birth name, Leon started his career as a MC/Rapper/vocalist in 1992 as founding member of Sons Of The Tribe. Sons of the Tribe made a name for themselves in the late 90's to late 2000's as one of the first live hip hop bands in the UK. They released the single "Cobwebs" and "half way home" (avalaible on Youtube) and gained air play from Chuck D of Public Enemy and Steve Lamacq of Radio one supported Rodney P and Skitz at Glastonbury and were voted UK single of the month in Hip Hop connection In September 2006 topping such artists as Skinnyman, Kalasnikoff, Jehst, and Micall Parkunsun. Sons of the Tribe went on to merge with Hundredth Monkey to form MonkeySons in which Leon was an early member before leaving to form the folk rap duo Hand to Mouth. After taking a break from music, Leon has has since embarked on a solo path under the name Soulpower75 writing and producing his own music that takes influence from his love of "golden era" hip hop, reggae, funk soul and blues, placing his inspiring, passionate, socially, politcally and spiritually aware thoughts on a musical mix in a way no one has done before".
