Violet Vortex (2)

On March 1998, somewhere in Athens-Greece, two friends - St. Spirus (Bass, Vocals) and Alexander P. (Guitar) - decided to transubstantiate their love for Black Sabbath and music widely by creating a band. As time passing by, the band was supplemented with Thomas G. (Guitar) and an other Alex T. (Drums). Having been grown by hearing Black Sabbath and after been touched by Pentagram, Spirit Caravan and mostly St. Vitus, their style couldn't be other than slow, slow, slow and heavy. In any case it's better to be Doom than to be doomed. And Doom there was!!! And the name was "VIOLET VORTEX"!!! Enthusiasm, rehearsals, gigs that led to parties and the love of their partisans, prompted them to record their first demo "Rush hour for lust" on winter of '98. More rehearsals, gigs, presentations to fanzines and magazines and the second demo "Indulge in reverie" was published on December of '99. A more dynamic style it's obvious already. Follow attendances to the underground collection of Psychedelic 'zines -the song "Luv"- and Doom or be Doomed(Stoned Bunnies) -the song "Trouble". On Spring of 2001 their communication to Secret Port Rec. brings their fist "ever wanted" contract and their cd "Lure Elegant" comes true.
