Dave Bartholomew

American jazz bandleader, trumpeter, composer, producer, and arranger. Born: 24 December 1918 in Edgard, Louisiana, USA. Died: 23 June 2019 in Metairie, Louisiana, USA (aged 100). He led his own band in 1946. In 1949, he became the A&R representative for [l=Imperial] in New Orleans and recorded his first session in the same year. In December 1949, he recorded a young pianist named [a309140] performing 'The Fat Man', which launched Domino's career. Bartholomew wrote over 4000 songs. Inducted into Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1998. Inducted into Rock And Roll Hall of Fame in 1991 (Non-Performer).
