Bernard Kalua

Born around 1950, Hawaiian musician Bernard Kalua has been a land leader, composer and arranger. During his school years he played ukulele and then at age 15 moved to guitar. The next year he was a professional entertainer. Along with [a3174201] he was appearing at Waiakea Village Resort in Hilo. He played and sang on Da Blahlas' self-titled [i][r=4347048][/i] album which was released in 1976 and sang on their [i][r=4347094][/i] album which was released in 1978. By 1979 he was leading his own group, [a3293997] which was released the [i][r=4572908][/i] album on the [l487140] label in 1979. At that time he was just 19 years old. In 1999 he released his [i][r=4330873][/i] album.
