Niels Nørgaard

Danish singer, pianist, conducter and songwriter, born 1965. One of the founders of the vocal group [a=Basix] in 1996. In 1992, Niels Nørgaard completed his training as choir leader at [l=Det Jyske Musikkonservatorium]. Alongside his career in Basix, he has conducted classical and rhythmic choirs, held choir workshops and made choral arrangements to order, among other things for [a=DR PigeKoret]. He was for a number of years permanent conductor of the classical choir [a=Aarhus Studiekor] and has taught choral conducting at [l=Aarhus Universitet]. After Basix stopped at the end of 2017, there was room for him to realize an old dream of playing the organ, and in 2020 he took the church music exam from [l=Vestervig Kirkemusikskole].
