Soulsearch

Founded in the winter of 1991 by vocalist and guitarist Thom Kinberger, Soulsearch is an Austrian Doom Metal band, which deals with Celtic interpretations of pagan legends and European philosophy. Often being credited as forerunners of the current Folk-Metal genre, the groups music is epic and melodic, and often branches off into various other styles such as Death and Gothic metal, as well as Neoclassical and Neofolk. The lyrics are mainly in German, although on later releases there are English vocals aswell. The group was acclaimed for the high standard of their live performances throughout Austria and Germany at various festivals and concerts. Soulsearch had numerous line up changes throughout its time, but had five permenant members at the time it announced its break up at the end of 2000. Various members have since gone on to form new musical projects.
